The Digital Economy Bill

Just following some of the (disheartening) parliamentary debate on the proposed The Digital Economy Bill. All seems too rushed, too ill-thought through and untimely (given the election announcement). One of my favourite comments outside of Parliament came from Nick Doody on last week’s The Now Show. “It’s just another example of people who make money from the way the world used to be, refusing to accept that their model doesn’t apply to the way the world is now; it’s like trying to protect blacksmiths and farriers by forcing motorists to put horseshoes on their cars.” The iPlayer version of the show expires pretty soon but there’s an excerpt here.
